In the production of PET bottles, the blow mold determines how the final bottle looks and performs. After a PET preform is heated to the required temperature, it is placed inside the mold. Compressed air expands the preform until the material reaches the cavity wall. Once cooling takes place, the bottle keeps the exact shape defined by the mold.

The mold described here is designed for 500 ml carbonated beverage bottles. It is commonly used on high-speed rotary blowing machines where stable forming and continuous production are required. The design aims to keep bottle dimensions consistent while allowing the production line to run smoothly for long periods.

Material and Mold Construction

The mold body is produced from A6061 aluminum alloy, a material widely used in blow molding tools. It offers reliable strength and corrosion resistance while remaining relatively light. Compared with heavier molds, aluminum structures place less load on the machine, which can be helpful during high-speed production.

Another advantage is machining stability. With proper CNC processing, the mold cavity can maintain accurate dimensions. This helps ensure that each bottle produced on the line remains consistent in shape and neck finish.

Cooling channels are arranged inside the mold to help manage temperature during the blowing cycle. Stable cooling supports consistent bottle forming and helps maintain production efficiency.

Production Use

This mold is mainly used for carbonated beverage bottles, but the same structure can also be adapted for mineral water or juice containers with minor design changes.

Under normal conditions, the manufacturing time is around three weeks for smaller orders and four to five weeks for larger quantities, depending on project details.
